Monique Lhuillier, Herve Leger and Mara Hoffman were among the many designers that presented their collections on day three of New York Fashion Week.
Monique Lhuillier – Fall 2013 Collection
Monique’s collection was the epitome of elegant. As expected the collection was comprised of 99% dresses with a few pant suits. However, what was unexpected, was watching Monique Lhuillier outdo herself. We’ve been watching her gowns grace the runway for a long time, but this by far has to be one of the most breath-taking collections she’s ever created. Against a solid backdrop of black, her garments floated down the runway in rich hues of red, green, white, black and gold. Monique used textured fabrics, furs, and a few abstract print choices to construct her looks. Monique’s range of designs went from “office appropriate” to “cocktail hour” and ended with “red carpet”. Always a red carpet favorite for many celebrities, these designs will undoubtedly be see adorned by our favorite A-listers very soon. A most interesting piece from her collection was the below hi-lo dress with matching pants.
Herve Leger – Fall 2013 Collection
Lubov and Max kept a unique connection between their Herve Leger line and BCBGMaxAzria line, by having the models for both collections wear hats. For Herve Leger, the models sported baseball hats with leather trims above the rim. The standard body conscious bandage silhouette synonymous with the label Herve Leger were prominent but other fits were present as well: A-line skirts, crop tops, and knee-length dresses were also par for the course.
Mara Hoffman – Fall 2013 Collection
No one could accuse Mara Hoffman of not living in color. The designer’s collection almost seemed misplaced among the darker colors seen in abundance thus far at fashion week. Mara’s collection focused heavily on femininity expressed through bold pattern choices, and vibrant color. The cut and fit on some of the garments give off an Asian-inspired vibe.
