MASTERS OF EVENING WEAR
That title definitely goes to Mark Badgley and James Mischka. World renown for their stunning evening wear ensembles, Badgley Mischka did not disappoint. Intricate beading, reminiscent of Ancient Greek Goddesses, adorned many of the dresses and separates. The styling of the models consisted of barely there makeup and pompadour, half up-dos.
SHINY IS AS SHINY DOES
Erin Fetherston sent a very feminine collection down the runway. The silhouettes included A-line skirts, sheath dresses, and shell tops. The majority of the collection was comprised of shiny fabrics that might have been satin, organza or even sateen. Erin Fetherston continued the popular jewel-tone theme of the week.
70s
When in doubt, go back in time for fashion inspiration! The Georgine runway took me back to the soul train days of old! The models came down the runway with big hair, and bold lips. The clothes brought back the vibe of the 70s but, mostly due to the styling and the psychedelic print choices over the actual silhouettes.
NAEEM KHAN
It’s hard to sum up the overall theme of Naeem Khan’s runway. There were so many unique elements. However maybe one could describe it as ‘The Gilded Age’. Gilded may mean lightly adorned with gold paint, but even the silvers, reds and greens that were used for intricate detailing made me think of something from this time period in history.
