Summer is in full swing and it’s time get some fresh wardrobe inspiration by taking a look at Nanette Lepore‘s Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Emerald green is the color of the year, and Nanette’s garments showcased this pretty hue along with shades of blue, orange & gray. Nanette’s use of the color wheel came off without a hitch on the runway, perfectly blending complementary colors blue and orange together in a way that was very appeasing to the eye. Nanette’s use of gray and black for blazers and trim detailing was a nice contrast to the brighter hues and gave that last bit of pizzazz to her line. Expect to see apparel offerings in shades of green, orange and blue this season from pastel options to neon.
Gingham, Stripes, and Asian-inspired Florals
Nanette’s use of color was only second to her print variations. Gingham, stripes, and Asian-inspired florals was the foundation of her collection. Stripes are everywhere this season, and have now been a fashion staple for a few years. No longer are people afraid to wear stripes for fear of looking “wide”. If done correctly stripes are a flattering print to have in your wardrobe arsenal. For the lovers of vintage-inspired garments, gingham will take you back and allow you to accessorize it for a modern spin on a traditional summer look. The beauty of the Asian-inspired floral print is in the details. The prints looked like artwork, and were eye-popping in the silhouettes Nanette chose for them. Florals, by their own right, are a staple of Spring & Summer, but these print options take floral to the next level of chic and beauty. Expect to see many apparel items in gingham, stripes, and florals this season.
