A perennial favorite at New York Fashion Week are the collection of designers brought each season by Fashion Hong Kong which is organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The Fall / Winter 2018 collections featured Anveglosa, Harrison Wong, and Heaven Please +.
The brand Anveglosa is designed by Annette Chan, a self taught designer and tailor, she launched her brand in 2007 which is the ultimate expression of style, luxury, and taste. Bringing a Parisian flair to NYFW for her Fall / Winter 2018 collection, Anveglosa featured designs with the finest European leather, tailored with exceptional detail. Anveglosa brought a unique collection from Hong Kong to New York City while stopping in Paris for some inspiration along the way.
Harrison Wong returned to New York Fashion Week runways for a second time with menswear and womenswear inspired by abstract expressionist Mark Rothko. The dark outerwear collection of black and grey jackets and sweaters were brought to life on the runway with edgy design elements of ombre textures, cross zippers and overlapping collars. The collection introduced bold pops of color with eye-catching cobalt blue and orange puffy jackets and scarves.
Closing the Fashion Hong Kong show was Heaven Please +, designed by Yi Chan and Lary Cheung. The team has two boutiques in Hong Kong but made their NYFW this season. The collection bucked the trend of the darker colors often seen in Fall / Winter collections with layers of blue, green and red that perfectly transition to Spring.
