Dennis Basso: Jewel Tones

Firstly, there are Fall/Winter staples that are musts for every wardrobe. As for colors, these seasons often showcase colorless black, gray, and white pieces, but if you can’t go without color, watch out for jewel tones, such as sangria, plum, royal blue and ruby. Fashion designer Dennis Basso’s Fall/Winter 2014 collection showed off a dynamic variety of neutrals and jewel tones in the form of silky suits and sequined monochromatic frocks. Look to this designer’s collection when in need of fall office wear inspiration.

Of course, once you have shopped for your new, darker and more sultry wardrobe, the fun doesn’t stop there. There’s the ultimate winter piece left to obtain, your new coat. For everyday usage, opt for the neutral, solid, or lightly patterned coat. Special occasions and formal events call for a unique coat of course, and what better way to treat yourself than a luxurious, real or faux, (depending on your preference) fur coat.

Venexiana by Kati Stern: Tres Chic Faux Fur

As one of fashion’s most controversial items, if you feel that a real fur coat isn’t for you, you can always buy faux and still be chic.  The evening gown fashion line Venexiana by Kati Stern, mixed fur coats in jewel tones with gowns of cream and rose gold in the Fall/Winter 2014 collection. This fall, fur is no longer limited to black, white, and brown. Find a statement fur piece in royal blue, plum, or wine to complement a simple ensemble. For the more understated wardrobe, aim for black, taupe, and cream pieces to stay trendy with simplicity.

Ivan Aguilar: Structured Winter Wear

Welcome sleeves again with open arms, and have fun with it! Bell sleeves on sweaters and coats are subtly glamorous change of pace from your standard winter wear. And for more sweater variety, you can swap a turtlenecks for cowl necks. In his Fall/Winter 2014 Collection, designer Ivan Aguilar showcased structured winter wear with asymmetrical collars and delicate bell sleeves for looks with an understated edge.
