Jason Wu’s NYFW Spring/Summer 2016 was the epitome of effortless femininity. Wu showed his strong ability to mix past romanticism with contemporary fabrics and avant garde ideas. A great example of this was his mixture of evening wear and flats. Models wore flounces and ruffles aplenty, combined with silver dandies, creating the ultimate minimalist look.
This seasons palette consisted of a vast array of greens and pinks. In the return of texture play, leather and lace merged with burnt feathers and fringe, often in one outfit. Softer textured materials akin to breezy t-shirt fabrics gave way to easier, approachable wear.
Although the collection boasted feminine appeal there were also strong structured elements like soft leather pants with delicate pleating and cropped knit sweaters. In terms of beauty, once again we saw uncomplicated hair by way of center parting and nude nails. What a stunning Spring/Summer 2016 collection from designer Jason Wu!
