This season of Fashion Week began for me at Badgley Mischka SS18. This beautiful line created by Mark Badgley and James Mischka is called Sun, Sea, Sand, and is inspired by elements such as limestone cliffs, crushed lemons with mint, salt sprayed hair, lavender breezes and terrocotta plazas.

This sounds like a summertime dream to me as the runway filled up with the colors of the season: bitter orange, lemon, fuchsia, fennel, raspberry, watermelon, navy, chalk, sky, honey, quartz, smoke, champagne, mist, oro, cloud and ice. This wonderfully sunny collection of dresses, gowns, slacks, blouses and a vibrant bathing suit were made from fine materials such as glazed poplin, linen hopsack, jersey ,voile, cotton scuba, polished canvas, guipure lace, chambray, embroidered gauze, satin crepe, hammered organza, molten brocade, tulle, satin organza, chiffon, tapestry brocade and dazzling diamond sequins!
The audience was filled with quite the variety of fashion industry professionals. Representatives from WWD, Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Vanity Fair & Oprah Magazine were in attendance along with model Niki Taylor, actress Alfre Woodard, TV Personality’s J. Alexander from America’s Next Top Model, Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo from The Bachelor, Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere, Miss USA Kara McCullough, Ruth Finley the founder of The Fashion Calendar, and many more actors and stylists.
The team responsible for this show are: styling by Micaela Erlanger, hair by Peter Gray for Cutler/Redken, make-up by Gucci Westman for Inglot and Karuna Skincare, nails by Deborah Lippmann, lighting by Steve Bradley Lighting Design, staging by BLT Productions and all accessories by Badgley Mischka. These pieces are ready for any fabulous occasion at a resort or island near you!
