People were lined up down the street waiting to view the Alice & Olivia by Stacey Bendet FW’19 Presentation Show at the Neo Gothic Angel Orensanz Foundation on February 11th at New York Fashion Week.
Stacey is well known for her vibrant colors and prints, and her creative story telling through her fashion shows. This season stayed right on track while my camera could not get enough of the vivid butterflies, prints and sparkles. The theme for the Alice & Olivia FW’19 presentation was “Fantasia” and that’s exactly how it felt as the models took you to bright and wonderful places through the gorgeous and funky variety of clothing and sets, both consumed with sparkling leaves, butterflies, flowers and animal prints. Artistic prints were paired with a fabulous color palette of rich jewel tones in shades of merlot, bordeaux, ruby, and pink mixed with black, white and shining metallics. The collection included gowns, sequin skirts, signature pants, statement t-shirts and jackets topped off perfectly with over-the-top headpieces.
The features of this fantasy land are The Queens of Fantasia. The queen wears a velvet sequin top along with a pleated bordeaux skirt made with yards of iridescent pleated taffeta and a beautiful rose crown. The snow princess is covered in ivory feathers wearing a full length skirt and a cozy white puffer jacket with a twinkling headpiece made of white leaves. Models posed in front of a rose wall, with carousel horses, in glittery snow and even up in a bird cage. Rockstar met romance in this colorful garden and fantasy world!
Stacey’s designs are meant for all women of all ages and can be purchased in free standing boutiques in the US, Middle East and Asia and in many of the most popular department stores worldwide, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Net-a-Porter, Lane Crawford, Isetan, Hankyu, Harvey Nichols, Harrods, and Galeries Lafayette. We loved seeing the Alice & Olivia FW’19 collection and look forward to what this always-exciting brand does next!
