Fashion Designer Michael Costello celebrates the feminine form with a Spring/Summer 2015 collection that hugs in all the right places. Every gown sparked excitement with various silhouettes. From fitted mermaid gowns to loose baby doll dresses, this collection was not for the demure shopper. The gowns were designed from a wide array of mixed metallic and holographic prints and raised floral textures, while others were an understated beige and satiny royal blue. Golden crowns adorned the heads of models with slicked back hair, and a simple but elegant look for makeup was made up of nude lips, black winged liner and bold brows.
Costello is an expert when it comes to the mermaid gown, and we never tire of his gorgeous recreations of the this silhouette. His style is consistent yet fresh, showcasing dresses that celebrate curvy figures with intricately detailed prints and materials. The dress shown above displays the softer, more feminine side of the collection that consisted of pastel floral prints with pleats and waves of material that cascaded past the hips.
The ultimate motif of Costello’s work is the nude material look. In this collection he included a lot of black embossed and beaded work on some dresses over the nude material. This gave the dress a more sensually organic look. The nude material aspect is part of what Costello is famous for – think back to Beyoncé’s Grammys 2014 dress – and he continues to use it as an exceptional part of his gowns. Needless to say, Micheal Costello’s dresses turn heads. Overall the fashion designer’s style is a mix of classic sophistication and an exciting edge.
Micheal Costello’s style speaks volumes about the woman who wears it, and she is most likely as vibrant and unique as the collection.
