Late into the second day of Fashion Week, the audience sat in the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion anticipating up-and-coming designer Jackie Fraser-Swan’s latest collection. In attendance at the Emerson by Jackie Fraser-Swan show were fresh-faced celebrities and editors that cater to a youthful demographic. The Pavilion is a new room in the Tents with runways that overlap in an “X” format and walls printed in a sophisticated stone texture.
The edgy, punk-inspired brand has launched one of the strongest collections of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. The layering of dresses, leather, biker jackets, plaid, and strong prints resulted in a powerful collection with hints of femininity. The leather and structured skirts were balanced by pieces in pink knit and chiffon with draped detailing.
While some looks were head-to-toe leather and heavily structured materials, others were elegant designs of draped chiffon with cowl necklines. Button-down dresses had dark chiffon sleeves and structured collars. The black and white color story was strong throughout this collection – this graphic trend is going strong on the runways and streets this season.
Emerson by Jackie Fraser-Swan online store will be coming soon, she currently is sold in boutiques in the NYC area.
