Vivienne Tam at New York Fashion Week, FW 2018

In Fashion Designers, Fashion Week by Mariana Aguilera

Vivienne Tam is on the move; physically and spiritually. She’s traveling through the Himalayas to Tibet, the program reads. She’s in search of the infinity to her wholeness. The collection show couldn’t have come but in the most perfect time. We’re at the steps of Chinese New Year, which means new beginnings, new horizons, new travels—reaching for the roof of the world is a mighty one that should be in everyone’s list.

The show journey starts from within backstage and watching how the designer’s team timely and meticulously ensembles each nomadic look: layered in earthy colors, mixed patterns and textiles such as shearling, lace, and knits. Importantly, all which can be deconstructed to fit our personal style in the city life environment. It’s also 2018, Vivienne Tam knows her woman is on top of her tech game and so is she. The brand is no stranger to smart textiles and experimenting with the latest of them. She offers her traveler a smart jacket with a removable heated panel, if she decides to face-off the frigid mountain temperatures or the New York streets.

The note here is to awaken the explorer in you, to reach your personal heights, and then go after the world, but never loosing sight of who you are—copy that. An encouragement probably rooting from Vivienne Tam’s own travel experiences which have set forth the exciting path for her brand. One day we’re in China, the next day we’re in Texas.
