In Fashion Week, Spring & Summer Trends by Patrick Hovan

Largely known for their unique watches, Galtiscopio is making huge moves as a brand. Making their New York Fashion Week Debut under Fashion Institute of Technology graduate Ying Lau, the fresh Spring summer 2018 collection started off with a bang. From watch company to high end fashion brand, Galtiscopio made an electrifying debut this Spring Summer season.

Starting off with a performance by R&B artist Ray J, the tone was set for the models to make their way down the runway. The collection started off with a series of elegant form fitting dresses. Black and white pieces accented with jeweled trims and unique cuts. Shimmering silver replicating diamonds tracing edges of sleeves or covering whole sleeves themselves. Sticking to the same style of appearance, things stayed relatively the same only started moving toward longer dresses and pants. Each piece had a unique glow to it as if each piece was an entity of its own. Silk fabrics and jewels seemed to play a huge part in Galtiscopio’s  spring summer collection. Colors began to shift as garments of rich blues and purples made their way down the runway.

From there came two models walking side by side wearing long graphic t-shirts. Both shirts were white and each read, on the left, “time to shine” and on the right “chic & Feminine”  which I could only believe to be a quick and accurate description to the collection as well as brand itself. From there came a style shift. While still sticking true to the collection and brand “chic and feminine” definitely played a part in the next set. Silver and sheer tops and fabrics draped over the models. Often over sized pieces of sheer on top of sleek form fitting black dresses and rompers. Outfits featuring warmer and deeper tones of red and burgundy came into the mix. Accented and accessorized with leather belts of black and red as well as silver headphones. Speaking of accessorized, Ying Lau stayed true to Galtiscopio’s roots and each model was fitted with one of their famous watches.

Wrapping up the show just before the final walk and debut of designer Ying Lau herself, There was another musical performance. This time by emerging rap artist Christian “King” Combs the son of well known rap artist Sean “P Diddy” Combs. With a performance described as electrifying, They wrapped up the show and as they exited the runway the models returned once more. This time lead by designer Ying Lau Making her NYFW debut with the renowned Galtiscopio.
