FEATURING: Coach, Diesel Black Gold,  Milly, Nanette Lepore, Narcisco Rodriguez, Oscar De La Renta, Rodarte, Sophie Theallet, Tory Burch, & Vera Wang

RED
Peter Copping, Oscar’s successor did not disappoint with his collection for Spring. At first glance, the collection radiated a Spanish theme. I immediately thought of flamenco dancers with their striking dresses, flowers in the hair, and bold red lips.  The shade of red that was infused throughout the collection, made me think of roses, and if you look closely at the reds, they are flowers.

CHOKERS & FEATHERS

Sophie Theallet’s African meets Western wear collection featured a silhouette that has been pretty popular this week; The halter neckline with bare shoulders or as I like to call it, the tube top with a handle. It’s a sexy silhouette, baring shoulders and upper chest, but with the choker, or high collar it still exudes power. Sophie used feathers, to drive home her vision.

Coach also featured chokers on their runway, but instead of being apart of the clothes, they were separate necklaces.  Stuart Vever’s print choices reminded me of paisley prints, but instead of the usual swirl, they were replaced with a million miny flowers, like an exposion.  And of course, what is a Coach runway without some classic leather and suede?

ASYMMETRIC HEMS

Nothing changes up a traditional look like an asymmetrical hem. Take Narciso Rodriquez’s collection for instance, and his hem choices on basically a maxi dress. The hem takes the look from basic to trendy in just a few strides.

LIFE OF THE PARTY
Nanette Lepore’s runways are always playful. This year, in lieu of the catwalk, Nanette through a party at her boutique. Nanette’s boutique was transformed into a presentation space, where she presented her fun, and playful collection. If you’re looking to be the life of the party, anything from her collection is for you!  Nanette’s collection featured a plethora of separates that could be mixed and matched depending on your mood!

Deep V’s & Cutouts

Milly’s collection again drives home, the popular trend of showing off everything above the bust. Whether it’s a tub top, halter neckline, or cut-out shoulders, there will be plenty of options for skin-baring this Summer!  Milly also featured several looks with Deep V’s or cutouts over the stomach.

We already know that the Diesel Black Gold girl is tough and edgy. Melbostad, further drove this home with his collection, by featuring some tough-girl leather looks, mesh & see-through fabrics, and cutout fabrics draped in unique silhouettes.

Mebostad wasn’t the only one favoring see-through fabrics, nor the tough-girl persona. Vera Wang featured several looks with see-through separates, and the edginess of her collection was cemented with dark colors, high waisted shorts, and bandeau tops.

Both Rodarte and Tory Burch, featured looks with a lot going on. Rodarte had layers upon layers lace, and patterned tights, while Tory Burch featured a plethora of print options.
